Christine T. Morgan

Christine has adult-onset hearing loss due to an auto-immune disease. She has worn hearing aids since 2005 and had her first cochlear implant in June 2014, and her second in December of 2015.

She has a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota and worked for 30 years managing various medical groups first in New Jersey, and since the early 1980s, in Minnesota. She left her last position in 2011 due to progressive hearing loss issues. The timing, fortunately, coincided with the birth of her first (and only) grandchild.

Christine is the current President of the Hearing Loss Association of America – Twin Cities Chapter. She is also a certified Hearing Loss Support Specialist and sits on several Advisory Committees related to hearing loss in the Twin Cities. Christine is a hearing loss coach for people with hearing loss and a trainer for both businesses and communication partners to assist them in improving communication with people with hearing loss.

Christine has been practicing Tai Chi since the mid 80s and teaching for approximately 15 years. She taught Chen Synthetic style in the past and now teaches Yang Short Form and SUN Forms. Christine is a certified instructor through the Tai Chi for Health Institute to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis and Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention. She is also certified as a Level III instructor with American Tai Chi and Qigong Association (over 2,000 hours of teaching students). Lionel Locke

Lionel is Secretary of the Hearing Loss Association of America – Twin Cities Chapter. He is also representing the Association on the Minnesota Commission of Deaf, Deaf- Blind and Hard of Hearing Minnesotans. Lionel is a certified Hearing Loss Support Specialist, and active in legislative advocacy in Minnesota.

As a communication partner living with a spouse who has hearing loss, Lionel has a first hand view of building better ways to communicate. People who do not understand what others are saying have diminished capacity for effective living.

Lionel has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Secondary Education and a career in sales and marketing. As a communication coach and trainer, Lionel delivers special insights to his workshops and training sessions.
